For this week’s AI art series we explored what it might be like if Van Gogh lived now and also farther in the future. It is interesting because you can imagine him in places and situations that never existed in the late 19th century.

We could imagine if Van Gogh found running as his true passion instead of painting. It would have altered the course of art forever but something tells me he would have been great at that as well.

We could even imagine what Van Gogh might enjoy doing at night. Perhaps he would have embraced electronic music and enjoy himself at a techno rave. Electronic music was also a foreign concept to him since it was not invented till the 1970s and 1980s.

We travel even further into the future where we could imagine Van Gogh relaxing at home. But considering the path of complete exploitation and destruction of our planet, we may see a less hopeful future, full of despair and hope for things to improve to the levels we once enjoyed.

We also asked ChatGPT to describe how Van Gogh might exist in the year 2200.

It is impossible to know for certain how Vincent van Gogh’s life would have played out if he were alive in the year 2200. However, I can imagine that he would be living in a world that is vastly different from the one he knew in the 19th century.

If Van Gogh were alive in the year 2200, he would probably be living in a highly technologically advanced society, with many forms of transportation and communication that did not exist in his time. He would likely have access to new types of art materials and technologies that would allow him to create art in new and exciting ways.

He may wake up in the morning in a futuristic city, where the buildings are towering skyscrapers and the streets are filled with autonomous vehicles. He would probably be living in a apartment, with high-tech amenities that would make his life more comfortable.

After breakfast, Vincent would probably spend his day exploring the city, looking for inspiration for his art. He might visit museums, art galleries, and other cultural institutions to see the latest developments in art and technology. He would probably also spend time outdoors, taking in the sights and sounds of the city and its inhabitants.

In the evening, Vincent would probably return to his apartment, where he would spend hours working on his art. He would have access to all kinds of advanced tools and software that would allow him to create digital art, 3D models, and even virtual reality experiences. He would probably also be in touch with other artists from around the world, collaborating and exchanging ideas with them.

Overall, if Vincent van Gogh were alive in the year 2200, he would be living in a world that is vastly different from the one he knew, but he would still be an artist driven by passion and a desire to create.

Thanks for reading! Leave a comment what kind of situations you imagine Van Gogh in.
